Conference Weekend

Instead of listening to conference in the comfort of our own home, we decided that spending conference weekend in Arizona with family sounded much better! I have to admit that the 20 hours of driving wasn't the greatest, but well worth every minute for the memories that we made! Since my sister Lore, and her husband will be moving from Mesa in July, we wanted to get our fix of extreme heat (96 degrees in April), Sagauro cactus', and pazookies. We also got the added bonus of visiting with my Mom, Dad, and my baby sister Noelle. To top it off, we enjoyed chocolate croissants straight from Paris (thanks Dad!), the Russian Birthday tradition of placing a match in an apple and giving a wish to the birthday person (Happy Birthday Mom!), and tasting fresh squeezed orange juice from the orange grove of some old family friends. They gave us some to bring home, so if you find yourself in Moab this weekend, stop by and I'll squeeze you a glass. :)

Sydney "helped" me pack my suitcase and made sure I had plenty of sweaters and a pair of go-go boots!! :)

Sydney wanted me to take a picture of her crocodile and the Superman toy she "won" in a Happy Meal. :) Why not?? We had a few hours to kill. :)

Playing with cousins.

Ellie's first time in the pool.

I promise she liked swimming--she just wanted to take a nap more. :)

Sydney couldn't WAIT to get into the pool!

Macie and Grandpa.

Grammy and Ellie.

Aunt Noelle and Sydney.

After swimming hair-do!!

This was a rare picture of Sydney sitting and eating a snack--Jeff and I pretty much took turns chasing after her the entire afternoon. :)

The lazy river was anything but lazy--but fun still the same. :)

Uncle Dustin and Dalan.

Aunt Lore with a "bun in the oven". :)

Jeff soaking up the Arizona sunshine!

Hope you all had a wonderful Conference Weekend!

Fun blog entry! I loved looking at all the pictures.

I can't believe it took 20 hours to drive down to Arizona! That's crazy! You could fly to Sydney, Australia in that amount of time ;)

Looks like you had fun with family. Lucky! I guess I'm only a 17 hour flight away from family :)

Greetings from Germany :)

Fun trip. loved seeing you guys. Ellie is the cutest. And sydney.

Sitting here in my bed wrapped in blankets, not to mention a hot pad on Hi. Can't believe just over a week ago I was in 100 deg heat. Holy cheese!

P.S. Correction: your 16 yr. old sister. ;)
